It would be great to have an option to evaluate an already backtested project against specific prop firm challenge rules.
Currently, FTO Online provides prop challenge backtesting, which is very useful. However, it would be even more powerful if I could take an existing backtested strategy/project and select a prop challenge to see whether the strategy would have passed that challenge historically.
For example, after completing a backtest, there could be an option such as:
“Check Against Prop Challenge”
The user could then select a specific challenge and FTO would analyze the existing backtest based on its rules, such as:
Maximum daily drawdown
Maximum overall drawdown
Profit target
Minimum/maximum trading days
Maximum position size or risk
Consistency rules
Time limits
Other challenge-specific restrictions
The result could provide a clear summary such as:
Challenge: Passed ✅
Profit Target: Achieved
Maximum Daily Drawdown: Not exceeded
Maximum Overall Drawdown: Not exceeded
Minimum Trading Days: Achieved
Result: Would have passed the challenge
If the strategy failed, it could show exactly which rule was violated and when, for example:
Challenge: Failed ❌
Maximum Daily Drawdown exceeded on March 14
Drawdown: 5.8% / Allowed: 5%
This would be especially useful because traders could backtest their strategy once and then evaluate it against multiple prop firms/challenges without having to run a separate backtest for every challenge.
It would essentially answer the question:
“If I had traded this exact strategy under this prop firm's rules, would I have passed the challenge?”
I think this would be a very valuable addition to the existing prop challenge backtesting functionality.
