Candle Difference from Live Markets

Many of these issues have already been highlighted by others and have yet to be resolved.

4 Hour Candles: Following US DST and in New York time zone, all currency brokers have their 4 hour candles open at 01:00, 05:00, 09:00, 13:00, 17:00, 21:00. However, FTO has theirs open at 00:00, 04:00, 08:00, 12:00, 16:00, 20:00. This causes the 4 hour price action to differ from the live markets giving us inaccurate key levels.

Sunday’s Data/Candles: Unlike most brokers where Sunday’s price action carries over to Monday, FTO has theirs displayed on the charts. This causes the daily chart to have an additional candle printed every week and having unwanted price action on the intraday timeframes, similarly giving us inaccurate key levels on most timeframes.

These issues result in FTO’s candles differing significantly from the live markets. With these variations, us traders are unable to backtest effectively. Above all the features and improvements, what we request is for the data to replicate exactly like the live markets.

It says its Completed but my EURUSD and GBPUSD charts still have the 4H open at 00:00 instead of 01:00.

Hi @User , thanks for letting us know.

To help me investigate this, could you please provide a screenshot of your entire FTO chart? Also, could you tell me which broker you are comparing the chart to?
And did you create this project in New York Bars mode or in UTC mode? Thank you.

New York bars mode - (UTC -5 ) NY Time & US DST.

I am comparing it against OANDA, Forex.com, FXCM charts. All their charts start the 4h candle at 01:00 (NY TIME) but here it starts at 00:00 NY Time.

I looked at it again and it seems like the bars are the same but the time is wrong.

Thanks for the update. It looks like a visual bug. If you check current time at the bottom of the chart when backtesting H4 timeframe then you will see that chart moves from 01:00 to 05:00 to 09:00 etc. which means that candles are opened at 01:00 which is correct. It looks like just a visual bug of the horizontal line, I will notify our developers about this issue.

Hi @User Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our developers are actively working on improving the time scale functionality, including the 4-hour candle alignment and Sunday data display. We understand how important it is for backtesting to mirror live market conditions as closely as possible.

We are planning to address these issues in the next release, so you can expect more accurate price action soon. We truly appreciate your patience and feedback—it helps us make FTO better for everyone! Let us know if you have any other concerns
